Beamish Museum

As you know, I LOVE a bargain! So last December I booked some Travelodge breaks when they were on the £9 a night offer. The first of these breaks was on my birthday towards the end of June. We booked a night at Washington, Tyne and Wear so we could go to Beamish Museum on the Saturday. I've never been before but wanted to go so we went for my birthday! It's a really great place to spend a day. Check out their website for full details. It's basically an open air museum. You can travel around the site on an old fashioned bus or tram. Different areas of the estate are set in different times in history. There's an old farm, mining village, church, school, manor, high street with shops and businesses. I took far too many pics to post so here are just a few! Remember you can click on them for a larger and clearer view.

The old high street.Inside the dentists.
The old tram.
The printers.
Inside the old sweet shop. The busiest shop there. I wonder why??? Of course we had to buy a few bags :)

Zachary ringing the bell at the old insurance office.Look at all these delicious fabrics in the old-fashioned haberdashery type store!
In the old school house.
My attempt at looking like a bossy teacher, lol.
David trying to look intelligent :)

Nathaniel and Zachary at the old school. They loved writing on the slates!
Ready for work down the mine! We had the chance to go on a little tour down a drift mine. It was fascinating. Sure glad I don't have to work down there!!
Gorgeous cottages near the farm.
David and the boys looking at the little piggies :)

Playing Catch-up

I'm going to try and play catch-up since it's been so long since I last posted!! So here goes! I'll add them all as separate entries. Are you ready??

I'm going to add some more pics from the waterfight as there were some really fun ones! I just didn't have time when I put the last one on. Also, the pics looks really washed out because of this blog template. They really are more vibrant (click on them to enlarge and see the proper colour). And because blog entries aren't as fun without at least one pic, here is a pic of my youngest nephew, Eli. This as taken a few months back. He is now 5 months and in this pic he was 3 months. We make really cute baby boys in this family, lol (on both sides). :)

Waterfight!

Gorgeous little boy

He is so gorgeous, I want to eat him up.

Soccer Stars

Here are pics of my boys playing football (soccer) at their auntie and uncle's house a couple of weekends ago. We had a BBQ followed by a waterfight. The boys were in their element!! More pics coming of my gorgeous nephew (son of said auntie and uncle!).

New Start

Last week we took the Kids to Butlins at Skegness for a 4 night, Monday to Friday break. And we went half-board so I wouldn't have to cook. Yeah!! I could totally get used to not cooking :) I took pictures of the kids on the beach but they are still on my camera. I will put some on here later. And the weekend before we left, we had a BBQ at my BIL and SIL's. Oh what fun we had!! The weather was perfect and the kids enjoyed a fun fun water balloon fight with my SIL. She's so much fun :) Again, I'll pop pics on later.

The kids go back to school tomorrow after having 2 weeks off. They have 7 more weeks until their summer break. I love having them at home (am I crazy??) so can't wait for the summer :) Plus, it means I get a break from work myself, lol. So tonight involves getting uniforms ready and lunchboxes made. Back to the drudgery :)
